No, cold air intake, mine has 50k on it, ford rep drove from here to Pittsburgh a lot. Looks like it has 10k on it though. With a tune and cai my buddy was running 13.0 all day long with 90 degree heat in the middle of the summer. So I would think in cooler air you can get 12's

My neighbor when I was in 8th or 9th grade (maybe 10th sht I dunno, I'm 32) had one just like that. I think it blew a head gasket and never got fixed.

Cool video man, took me back to yesteryear. I think I'm gonna start a thread- "It should've been called a Yamaha Show." Dereailment and my apologies but did any of yall like the contour svt? I kinda did when they came out (11th or 12th grade) but I don't think I'd seek one out now.
*Edit* why are the smileys showing up as a lil red car?

Car is quiet as , my brother had a 99 contour svt. Fastest it went was a 15.0. It was a fun car but it was a contour.

I had two, black and silver! But I am a Ford man. 2 SVTF 2SVTContis. They are out there pretty cheap too. They aren't that bad for a commuter car with balls

Yeah but now days I think they'd be too slow compared to the rest of the riffraff on the street and I'm guessing there's not much aftermarket support to alleviate the slowness. Also I don't think it'd turn a single head anymore other than the head of the former contour svt owners.

If I have $35K to spend I'm buying a Caddy CTS-V. I've been trying to talk the wife into this but my kid getting his license and my insurance going to double now it's not in the cards. Now I'm thinking 2003 Cobra with low miles. We bought a Mercedes for my Dad at Barrett Jackson last year so since we bought a car there we get free dealer badges this year. Maybe I can find something there.

The SHO is pretty nice though, good luck.

The stock idle is like a stock V-6. When it opens up, it is like a Yamaha Super Bike Scream, not anything like a 4cyl imported fart can. It was the coolest motor I have owned. I bet newest versions of the modular motor owe a lot to its development.
