I was referred to this forum as an excellent source of help for mustang owners.
Theres already a 95 GT in the stable, just picked up a 89 LX 5.0 5-speed
Paid 1200, body is decent, needs some paint, interior is great. Runs strong
I have what i think may be a clutch issue. or possibly throwout bearing. Here are my symptoms.
I can drive the car for about ten miles with no problem. Clutch engages smooth and firm (King Cobra according to the guy i purchased from -- definitely not stock) It does not slip at all or make any funny noises at idle or while driving until i have driven about ten miles, then i hear a faint rattle/chattering noise, like metal jingling and bouncing around.
Sound gets louder as i drive further. If i dont pull over soon enough, car will get stuck in gear and i have to wait until it cools down to pull it out of gear.
I dont know alot about clutches or how they work, i was hoping somebody could tell me whats wrong?
Thanks guys!
