just put engine back together

getting a small clacking sound from under one of the valve covers,but it runs smooth and is sounding awsome with the ported gt heads,lower and upper..alot louder...i have only run it for 5 minutes,,whatya think the sound is? thanks

I don't know someone mentioned hydrolic lifter needing to fill with oil?

could be a bad lifter............it is possible.......if that is what it is...pull the valve cover and make sure the rocker is tight........undo the coil wire and spin over the motor and see if it is slack or not..........

How much torque did you put on the rockers?

it may take 10-15 minutes for it to get to full temp and really prime those lifters...give it some run time and see what it sounds like....usually things will quiet right down...
if not then whip the upper off when its warm and re-do the rockers if it appears to be them???

Is it a good idea to let the lifters sit in oil overnight before installing them or is that just poodleposh?
