Just Starting my Twin-turbo project

I know, but my worries are the oil return and I may have to mod the pax side wastegate for better flow and fit.. But today i went out and started on the intercooler mounting.

This is what I came up with.. I cut a section out of the bumper and then I used the cut out to make the bottom support for the IC..

Then I mounted it to see how it would look and how much airflow would get to it..

Yep, but it seems to be a pretty common mod to slice the bumper. At first I wasn't going to did it, but after a lil thought I was like hell why not. I don't plan on hitting anything, but we never do!!!

Hopefully it will be okay.

Ok it's been a couple of days. I had to change the way I had the wastegate mounted, due to everyone teling me it would cause boost creep if i left it that way. So i had to close the hole on the side with a patch and then weld it on the end of the elbow.

Oh I also welded the bung to the intercooler pipe for the wastegate. The are pretty but they are air tight.. besides with the grinder I can make them as pretty as i want.... LOL

PICS will be up this weekend. Just got the final wastegate in, so Monday I will start the MEAT AND POTATOS of the build. The engine tear down....

okay it's been awhile since I posted. The pics will be on tonight. Whats been going on

I stripped down the engine bay to give myself room to work. All the accessories have been removed and i'm repainting the and cleaning up the engine bay.. Wish I had a pressure washer...

I welded the piping to the collector of the manifold as one big piece and then I took out my cutter and chopped the piping at the most level run of the piping. I don't know if I'm going to use V-bands or 3"butt joint band clamps. Thinking about the later of the 2 for cost and easy installation..

I also welded a 45 degree down to the H-pipe that I had to cut. Since I have to run the exhaust out board of the steering linkage. A 2 1/2 pipe wouldn't fit. So I put it in the vice and squeezed it to an oval shape. This give me about an 1/4" clearance..

Tonight I have to make a reducer from 3" to 2 1/2" I thought I could find one at the local auto parts store , but no luck.. I also relised that this is going to put alot of heat in the engine compartment so I just ordered 100' of exhaust wrap.

I will also tackle that oil pressure send unit. it's tucked kinda odd behind the water pump and I cant get any thing on it... it should be a socket but it's not..

Any ideas? SORRY AGAIN AND I WILL POST SOME PICS TONIGHT..
