Guys I went and ran in the true street class at Brandenton in Florida last Saturday the 7th. Well I didn't know that Justin Burcham was in my class till the second run. Then on the third run guess who I got to race. Justin Brucham! I know that some may not know who he is. But I look up to him! I love to read about him. I still can't believe that I even raced him! Anyway I ran a 14.2 and got walked. He ran a Procharged 3v stroked and built mustang. Ran a 9.3 something. But still lining up next to a legend like that made my weekend!

I remember seeing him on Pinks. He seems to know a lot about foxes.

If I remember correctly there was also an article in one of the Mustang magazines where he installed a hidden nitrous system inside the drivers side door of a fox.

That is correct...Very stealthy..ran the nitrous lines through the vaccume line.

Would be a pain to have to tear the door apart all the time to refill it, and not being able to use your window, if you even got one

Some of you guys might want to read up on Justin. He is literally a Fox body god and was NMRA champion. Whimpy transmissions need not apply. Justin will kill it on the first pass.

Yes all of that. He ran a 5.0 later that day too. But I ran against his 3v mustang.

Slightly off topic, but why in gods name would you enter the True Stee Class when you're only running low-14's? You would have done much better in some sort of bracket racing class?

pretty sure true street also gives awards out for low 14's, 13's, 12's etc... from what i read about it, it seems like a fun class cause there is something for everyone, from 14's to sometimes low 9 second cars.

I see....I was under the impression that it was just a strait heads up type of class and only the quickest of the bunch stood a chance?

at the core it is, but i think that its mainly just a class thats built for the everyday guy that took his street car to a fun ford event and wants to race but dosent really have a class that he fits into. They also do a cruise before or after the race to prove that the car is really streetable. If i ever make it to a FFW i'd like to compete in the class

I didn't know that I was going to run low 14s. I was hoping for high 13s. It was my first time in the 1/4 mile. I was just in it for fun. I was there why not race? I never thought I was going to win and didn't care if I lost. I had a blast and raced Justin Burcham! Worth the $85!

True Street has an overall winner, the one w/the lowest average of the day, as well as other class winners who each have the lowest average 14-second time, 13-second time, 12-second time, etc.

That's cool that you got to do that

I ran true street at the world finals last year and hope to run it a couple of times this year. For me it is more fun to go on the cruise than the race. It was cool as hell to be on 30 mile cruise with 72 mustangs. And is cool that a 14 sec car could line up to someone like burcham, it make for a cool story.
