Good question:

Stock MAF is 55mm, but aftermarkets can go up to 90mm (or larger.)

Are you running a mechanical fan? Some people report rough idle conditions with a open element filter like that from the fan wash.

Might as well consider a K&N FIPK. Part # 57-2502.

Just put a panel filter in your stock box, rip out the silencer and you are golden.

I dont have any kind of filter right now. I just put a 5.0 in a cj7. So i just want one that clamps onto the mass air flow sensor. So i just need to know the diameter of it. I would jsut go measure it, but i dont have the jeep witih me. It getting exhaust put on it.

Like said already... Open element filters can cause fan wash, where the fan will blow air into the filter at idle, and screw with teh MAF.. making it run like crap. If you do go with one, make a shield to shelter it from the fan wash
