I just got my 03 mustang gt and im wanting to do some small mods, small enough its not too hard to swap for dealer checks. i was looking at k&n air intake performance kits, they're pretty nice, not too pricey.. i wouldn't mind the 29 hp gain. but i was curious if there's something better out there other than the k&n?

get a tuner like the predator. run premium gas and the flash should net about 15hp. if you are concerned you can always reflash back to the stock tune when at the dealers.

I'll 2nd that. I remember doing a large comparison of CAI kits for 99+ 4.6L 2V's and the Morpheus Powerpipe came out on top. However, I cant seem to find their website again

I looked around on some more sites, and k&n says "up to 26hp gain" at resellers i see 5-7 hp gain. that 5-7 makes it sound not worth it. basically what im looking at is i got a bit of extra money this month and im just wanting to get a bit of hp gain with it, any other sugestions on the best route to do this?

btw that tuner looked pretty good

What does everyone think about pullies? worth it? I run a aftermarket amp and subwoofers and wonder if pullies will weaken the electical power from the alternater.

I forgot what it's called but there's something you can get to keep your stereo/amp from pulling so much juice from your battery

A capacitor (SP?) This hooks up between your battery and amps and stores power form the battery and when you music really "hits" it draws form the capacitor and not the battery. Not sure if it would help with the pullies since they work with your altenator.

off road H or X pipe will probably give you the most hp for the money.

if your concerned about the dealer finding out..... then i would get intake, pulleys (preferrably black), and a tuner. however onthe 4.6's...the pulley mod is very noticable since you can clearly see the stock crank pulley with nno belt around it, attached to the aftermarket one spinning the belt. be careful
