Not much to this thread besides I just put in a K&N air filter direct replacement. I'm not sure if it has added much pep yet or on the fuel economy, but I hope to know soon. Taking it out on the road for a car show tomorrow 2 hrs away. Zoom Zoom Zoom,75 mph on the interstate. :D

I havn't really noticed too much difference with the K&N as far as performance goes, however, if you take appart the air box and just use the top lid that connects to the air hose and throttle body, you get some good suction through the air filter. A K&N is worth the extra money. They are exellent quality and it's the last filter you'll have to buy for that car as they have a 1million mile warrenty. With our 2.3L, we may use that warrenty.

Thanks! I never realized it was so full of baffles etc. I didn't remove the whole part but I did take out a cone shaped piece. It took me less than 5 min. It's pretty loud now and the power gain was so so. I should probably find a plain tube to put on because the air passage is kind of small.

It is my opinion after driving 200 miles today on the hiway and interstate, that the K&N air filter does help the gas mileage and does appear imo to help the pickup and acceleration. I think it was $37. well spent imho.
