Well I'll definitely be rebuilding my rear....

The carrier exploded, spider gears were shredded and everywhere, and unfortunately some of the teeth of the ring are damaged. So now I have to get a new ring and pinion set on top of everything else.

Oh well, I'll be ordering all of the parts on Monday and hopefully they'll come in by Friday so I can install them next Saturday.

Dave

Cobra diff from johnbeakleyford.com (thanks)
Superior 31 axles
New Ford 4.10s
Rebuild kit..not sure which one, figured I'd ask the guys at john beakley.

Anyone know if the Superior axles work with ABS, I know the Mosers do but I'd prefer the Superior ones?

i don't know if the axles will work, but even with my ford axles i had to press off the old reluctor wheel and put them on the new axles. if i were to do over i would have just bought new rings, and spot welded them to the new axles.

i got my rebuild kit from john bleakley, i got the one with new axle bearings and all.

Good luck bro, that sucks.

Yeah try to find someone to smooth it into the existing bumper by shaving and filling...it'll look a lot better and def put mesh behind the open areas...makes a lot of difference

yes you can press on the old exciter rings onto superior axles. I have those on mine.
