Im looking into getting a 96-98 cobra for the main fact they come with 305hp, and its in my price range...I also want the least amount of engine work to make fast...I Know they have real crappy TQ down low and run real good on the top end and in the upper RPM's. Im not looking into peak dyno #'s, I want a power adder that will fix up the weak spots, SO I choose a KB, instant boost at low rpm, I dont want to run too much boost(for alot of reason) but enough to get close to 400RWHP, is this possible with just KB(6-8psi) and full exhaust/supporting mods?...I want the Cobra to be a animal on the low end TQ ,like my 5.0 is on the low end TQ(crappy top end though)..I know these year cobra need atleast 4.10's, which im going with and A KB...will that make it a animal through the lower rpm range and up top? is it worth or possible to remove that secondaires/valve crap below 3k rpm? Or am I better off getting a 94-95 cobra, swaping H/C/I and KB, it will put close to 380rwhp KB said...so witch is the better option?

KB won't make over 400RWHP...and they heat up internals like no other. You have MUCH more potential with a centrifical supercharger. Vortec, Procharger.....you can run 8-10 lbs with no problems and make 400-450RWHP. With 12-14lbs of boost, you need to run meth for a safe tune and tempuratures, and you will make over 500RWHP safely on stock longblock.

Centrificals are great for top end power, more so than twin screws or Eatons. The problem is they have to wait till higher rpm to make power. The KB can make 400RWHP if you go 10lbs and the 2.1L kit can support up to 18lbs. I am going KB on my Cobra, I also have 3.73 and the cars acceleration is great. If your not on the highway alot 4.10's will work. If you go KB@10lbs make sure you get 42lb or larger injectors and a larger fuel pump. I drove my friends 98 GT with a KB and it is an animal, power is right now. You really have to work to keep the tires from going up in smoke!

If there is one thing I have learned over the years low end is overrated. I used to be just like you. I wanted all the low end I could get, but with experience I learned that there are better ways to make a car fast.

I will use my own 91 for example. If I heat up the DRs, I can launch the car hard and it will take off. Then no matter what I do it will break traction around 3500rpms and spin to the redline. If I had aimed to have more low end I will would just be spinning from the start.

I love my 98 Cobra because it has a similar feel in the power band. Get a 4:30 gear and a centrifugal. You will not be disappointed.
