usually I don't race but i wanted to see what my stang has under the hood, was making a right turn on a 2 lanes street with no cars. That porsche carrera 4 was behind me at the light and I knew he wanted a piece of my stang... .anyways...get on the left lane floor it, 1 then 2..porsche still behind me keeping up..then banged the 3 and 4...put 2 or 3 cars between us then slow down...good rush of adrenaline. .we were 2 in my car..I have SLP exhaust, k&n, some suspension mods..and 315 BFG drag..dang those tires just stick to the road...
how many HP those carrera 4 have ?
just wanted to share my experience...

Wouldn't doubt it. Nice run! I ran what looked to be new Carrera Turbo vert and he only pulled a car or so on me by 95. Not to mention I was all stock. I would love to find him now and get a good launch.

a new carrera cab runs consistent low 12s and there is little room for error with the AWD.

My friends 01 Turbo ran 12.11 stock.

I think they have somewhere in the range of 300hp and 0-60 in about 4.9sec

Thats the NA of course. Rated 320HP, put down 295~? Porsche doesn't lose much even with the AWD.

Pretty fast cars Im sure. Mid 13s? Low 13s?

But they don't have any torque. The regular 911's (I think) aren't AWD. Just the turbo models. I would be a fair race between a stock 911 and a bolt on mustang. They don't have too much torque either.

Consider yourself lucky it wasn't a turbo. I've ran into one of those before...not a pretty site.

Look at it this way. Those cars literally cost 5 times more than ours do. That gives you a little room to play around with. Now if you had a 5grand whistler under the hood-it would have been a totally different story.

Very true. For 1/4 of the cost of that car I could have my car in the 10s. But the 911 Turbo is a GREAT machine.

He said he ran into a Carrera "4" . The Carrera 4S is AWD naturally aspirated.

If it was a Carrera Vert. it wasn't turbo. There is no such thing. There aren't technically any Turbo Carrera's either. The 911 Turbo is the only one in the 911 line-up that is turbo'd besides the GT2. All Carrera's are N/A.

it was either the 296 hp version or 320.. With the all wheel drive take off 20-25% for drivetrain loss.

yeah I know I was pretty happy...the guy looked pissed off that I was keeping up with him..lol.. I spent 5 or 6 times less money than him on my car...he would have probably kill me top speed but from a 15 mph roll I did good....anyways those BFG 315 stick to the street real good...the SLP exhaust was screaming too....
soon a twin screw will sit in my engine bay

Yeah the turbo 911's do the 1/4 in the low 12's not the Carrera's. Carrera's are all N/A. 911 Turbo's have around 400hp (new ones have 415) while the fastest Carrera has (C4S) has 320hp.

Oh I thought it was a Carrera. Sorry my mistake. I know it was turbo though, well at least the thing said it on the back end of it......

On a little side note I was at the car wash and there was a Carrera Turbo sitting in front of me. The Carrera took off down the road like a bat out of hell (couldn't believe how it hooked and just shot off). Well the guys at the car wash said my shifter felt much better then his right after my TriAx install.

Chalk one up for aftermarket Mustang parts

I have ran a few turbo ones here in Jax they are pretty quick and I wouldn't want to run one in a GT or a stock Cobra.
