Kenne Bell 2v 9lb kit...

Another :nice: satisfied KB customer here. Mine's been on for two weeks. The kick in it is nothing short of amazing. Remember that scene from Gone in 60 Seconds when Nicholas Cage hits the juice in the drainage basin....its a lot like that - but from idle to redline.

The install - including gauges took about 16 hours. It actually may have gone faster to split the work over two days, but we knocked it out in one....very, very tired at the end. The instructions were very detailed and easy to follow.

On another point, I've got nothing but the highest praise for their customer service. After my install, I took it to a shop to be dyno'd. I made the mistake of letting their guy run up the car while I shot video outside....big mistake. Turns out the guy - for whatever insane reason, didn't floor it. When I got a 335 rwhp number with a curve that was all over the place, I faxed my dyno sheet to KB. I was pretty steamed. Within 15 min, Jim Bell calls me and we start trouble shooting what was wrong with the kit. I went back the the same shop the next day and ran it up again...this time to only 5200 rpm. My numbers were 390 rwhp and 425 torque. This time the curve looked exactally like they advertise and what has been in Muscle Mustangs and 5.0 Mustangs. Throughout the run, I was gaining a steady 3-5 rwhp per 100 rpm and it was still climbing steadily at shut down. Until we figured out that it was just a case of an inept dyno operator, KB was all over the problem. Frankly, I can't recall that level of customer service from any other purchase no matter what the type.

Oh yea, I'm showing 10 psi of boost from the moment I floor it and the thing is whisper quiet. While the intake makes a cool and very noticable sucking sound, I can't hear the blower over my exhaust until around 4500 rpm.

i am going to order the KB 9psi this Wed. Is it ok if i use two credit cards at the time of purchase? because my credit card max out at 5000.
Man, reading all of your guys story making me so excited

I was at KB last week and from what I understood it sounds like it will be a while longer for the GT 2.2L race kit. They had a problem with the motor they had built and had to send it back. Also they are putting all of their efforts into getting the 99-01 Cobra kit finished right now.

How hard is this kit to install? I've done all (except gears) the mods in my sig. myself and none were close to being difficult.

Also, the chip this kit comes with: Can you just put it in place and go or should the car be dyno tuned? I know it should be tuned properly, but being in the middle of no where (Pennsylvania) I might not be able to get to a shop ASAP. Thanks! :D

(P.S. - I'm about to start my first "real" job out of college and, especially after reading this post, I can't figure a better way of celebrating my new found...um..wealth(?)).

I got a quick question...hope this doesnt sound stupid but how does an intercooler work on a twin screw that comes with them manifold...like on a centrifugal the aftercooler is after the charger before the tb...how does this work on a manifold/twin screw charger?

I'm pretty sure it sits between the blower itself and the intake plenum.

I'm interested w/ his chip question too?

Is it plug and play?

I should be picking my car up this weekend or next and am interested in how it will feel going from 663 rwhp/507 rwtq at 7200 rpm with a centrifugal to 485 rwhp/482 rwtq at a much lower rpm with the KB. Of course with the spray and 568 rwhp/630 rwtq that'll make it even more interesting. Should be fun unless someone buys the car before I get it back.:D

It depends on how good/comfortable you are working on your car. The instructions (nearly 100 pages) are very detailed with photos, but I chose to have someone help me with this. I wasn't comfortable splicing wires, etc.

As for the chip, they do not reccomend any changes. Everything you need comes in the kit with the exception of the spark plugs (1 step colder than stock). I thought it would be a good idea to dyno to be sure that the car wasn't running lean - it wasn't. Basically, bolt it on, hook it up, and enjoy what feels like a whole new car....a much, much faster car. :D

Hey Guys here's TooBlue's video
I'm hosting it so try not to kill my bandwidth.

Its an awesome video...

From what I can read on the gauges its 12 lbs of boost and 6000 rpms and 120mph....WOW it came real real real quick...some good tire barks too.

Looks like major league SMILE factor.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

TooBlue's awesome KB run Clicky Clicky
The car looks pretty fast! I wonder who was holding the camera while he was drinving at 120 mph? :D

WOW that vid was awesome to say the least. That thing picked up really really fast. especially after it hooked on second you can really see that MPH shoot up. love this kit for its power and completeness (it that’s a ward) anyway I’m currently saving for this bad boy. i have 1,500 right now and was planning on doing all the little mods. but nothing compares to this. just my .02. i was even planning on doing the head and cam swap. but as soon as i noticed i would be up around the 3k mark noware near that power i had to do some thinking. all set now and by the end of the year it should be mine.
