Reminds me i have to put the 42's on mine with the 10 pound pulley.

Anyway, I Forgot to ask what injectors your running. Looks like no altercations were made with fuel. ie: 255 Fuel pump at least 24 pounds of injector and a adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Thats just the set up i had on mine and with it dialed correctly i wasnt rich or lean.

See if you can rent a dyno for the day. Make adjustments to timing and fuel. Start at max and work your way down. Its safer then doing another pull that lean.

Btw.. The richer you are the more torque you'll get but youll lose some hp.

Before I tell you why it'll pick up power, why don't you tell me why it'll lose hp?

From everything i every read going TO rich you will loose HP...I know if you can get it just right he might pick up a little but not no 30-50 hp gain...To me the KB is great for torque but not that great for HP...Thats why i didnt go that route im now going turbo...

Here is the problem. Don't preach things that you've read when you have no idea what you're talking about.

If the tuner has any idea what he's doing there could be well over 50rwhp left in it.

Well maybe im wording it wrong if he goes TO rich he will loose HP better....?...You cant tell me if he runs to rich Meaning in the 10's He will have more HP? Yes i hope the tuner gets it set right at least if he doesnt pick up a hell of alot more HP the car will be safe to run....and not hurt the motor... And please dont think i dont know anything what gives you the right to judge what i know and dont know?...Are you God?....I was driving and building my 1st car already when you were born..I think i know a little more then you think I do....I still say if they go to rich it wont make alot more HP..and im sticking to my guns on that one.....

Excessively rich OR lean will lose power. The difference is, more power is lost when the mixture is excessively lean, when compared to excessively rich. I can't find the graph right now (probably in old text books at home), but it plotted horsepower vs. A/F. Power drops off dramatically at A/F ratio's leaner than 13.5 (from memory), much more than ratio's richer than 13.5.

An A/F ratio of 14.7, or stoichiometric, is the ratio at which complete combustion occurs. That is, a complete burn. No leftover air or fuel. While this is ideal for emissions and fuel economy, it is not ideal for peak power. On most engines, peak power is achieved with an A/F of 12.8 - 13.2. As a safety margin, most tuners shoot a little richer on forced induction setups.

Looking at the OP's graph, at full load the A/F was below 14 from only 2300 to 2600 rpms. During the rest of the pull, the A/F was well above 14 and even approaching 16. I'm shocked it wasn't pinging. IMO, there is a lot of torque and power to be made by bringing the A/F down to 12.5.

I'm interested in knowing how much more timing you're going to be able to run with that whole thing shot through the after-cooler.

I'd imagine that cooler is what kept it from going BANG on that pull... even if it didn't have a steady air flow for that pull.

I always like when people say things like that, well i been doing this FOREVER so im smarter then you...

No that just makes you OLD how much you know and how long youve been doing something arent directly related, and you cant teach expierience, which im thinking your lacking by your views in this thread.

If that car has more fuel it should make more power.

EVERY one here is missing my point...Running TO rich in the 10's you will loose HP i never said when the tuner gets it set right 11.5-12.5 that it wouldnt make more HP...Yeah im old...Thanks.....And yes i have been building cars since i was like 15 they werent FI and as complicated as they are today well i mean they were carb, play with some timing and jetting well you get the idea....

If you run too rich you will lose hp, on my pulls running the same set up i lost hp from bring to rich. It wasnt a massive loss, just 2-4 hp. Torque either stayed the same or increased.

Either way op has a lot of room right now to at least see 20-30 hp from the way his car is running now.

If hes on stock timing he has a lot of room to play with.

You guys are missing the point. He states if a/f is perfect he will be at peak. If hes to high running rich he will lose hp. Think about it, hes right. More fuel doesnt always mean more power. If he has the correct a/f hes at peak. If hes got to much a/f he will lose power simply because its to much.

BINGO....thats all i meant....maybe i worded it wrong in my 1st post but if you add to much fuel you loose power...thats all I meant....Thank you..91foxbod50

The confusion probably did come from your first post. While its true that being too rich sacrifices power, the same is true for being too lean.

In the OP's case, he's way too lean and will surely pick up torque and power once the A/F brought down to the 12.5 range.

Exactly...i agree he will see lots more power once the A/F is right but if they go to rich ive seen it happen they make it run safe maybe even a little to safe it will sacrifice some power....

I was at 15degrees base timing
