Kenne Bell FTW!

you can pick up a set of e7's for cheap. Send em out to get ported and polished with a valve spring job. And pick up an explorer u/l for 200 bucks. Then slap the kb on it. you'll be safe and you can run more boost:nice: If you think about it it'll only be about 500$ more and you'll be up their in hp/tq.. Then maybe nitrous?:Track:

OK, so now he would be 4 grand into a 300hp combo. A novi 1000 can be picked up used for a grand and make 300hp with the stock parts and 6lbs of boost. Don't get me wrong KB's are bad azz but why spend more to do less?

I depends on what is done to the heads and who does them. I have valves and a valve job (not sure what a valve spring job is) in my E7s (unported), a stock cam, a Cobra intake ($250 for that and a 65mm TB) and all the rest of the bolt ons. My car in its prime made 272/316. Toss a blower on that and mid to higher 300s wouldn't be hard at all, maybe even 400 to the tire with the right pulleys!

If I put a Blowzilla on a 427cid stroker I could make 700HP and TQ but that has nothing to do with his STOCK car. And as per Kenny Bells own literature, the cobra lower is only worth 5hp over the stock lower. Put both blowers on the same STOCK car and the Novi will make more power and the KB will make more torque. It comes down to what you want. If you want to be fast get the novi. If you want to roast the tires from stop light to stop light get the KB

KB's are the best for a fun street stang. They are perfectly fine on a 5.0, they won't make as much power as say a Cobra like 25th said, but it will really be fun.

You should however port your heads with bigger valves, see thumper for that and you need to upgrade the fuel pump, injectors and exhaust. the stock cam is really good with a KB.

Thats pretty much why I want a KB.

1) They leave room to work around your engine because they dont take up so much space.
2) I go to the track everyonce in a while, but street fun and torque are mainly what I'm looking for.
3) I like the look of a twin screw charger instead of having what looks to be a turbo in your engine compartment.

People are not getting my point, if he has an old set of e7's why not get them totally refurbished? IMO running a supercharger on ANY car that has mileage on it will need some substitution for worn parts. Cobra upper and lower intake with a set of ported and polished heads will already put him up 260 hp at least. The stock e7's will restrict the power greatly, no? Why not invest 1g into the heads and intake. And eventually pick up a blower? Just seems to make more sense anyways. Remember your putting a supercharger on the car, the more flow the better.

KBs are great, i am a big fan and will more than likely have one this summer. For what FOX is wanting he will really enjoy the KB. What i was saying before that you would really love it if you had all the basic bolt ons before the blower. I know timeslips arent a major concern to you, but shelling out that kind of money to have a supercharged mustang that runs high 13s would hurt ones feelings. I know it would mine. They do have decent gains on a stocker, dont get me wrong. In my opinion i would want the full potential out of my investment. Just an opinion though. No matter which way you go it will have more power and you will love it! Temporarily! Its never enough!

64cc chamber on stock e7's
Forced induction is just that. A stock intake will flow a lot of air when it is forced through. An engine is nothing more than a air compressor. It sucks the air in on the down stroke. If the heads are junk it will not get as much air into the cylinder in the allotted amount of time. With a blower it forces the air into the cylinder regardless of how restrictive it is. That was my point when I stated that KB's own website and literature only show a 5hp gain with the cobra intake. Better heads and intake will make it more efficient but it is not a requirement. For what fox wants he could do the KB on his car the way it sits and never want anymore.

Fox, Didn't you just put a new or rebuilt STOCK aod in your car? It won't last long Unless you build it up some. You will need a converter as well.

Yeah, I think I'm going to get GT40 heads. Give me a nice-good flow, for a pretty good price. What would a good converter be for my setup?

you should invest in a DD to...i had a boosted car before i know i wasnt able to keep myself from keeping it out of boost alot....:( gas mileage sucked.

your gonna go threw tires alot faster too :nice:

but if i were you id really look at this...the price of a KB vs the price of a S-trim...hell for what you would spend on a KB you could even get a nice single turbo setup.

Hell no! I have to pay for insurance once I graduate (in 3 months) and I am NOT spending money that I dont have to. I think the gas money I spend in return will be cheaper than paying for a DD and registering and insuring it.

Like I said above 3 reasons why I want a KB.

I think I have decided on GT-40 heads to compliment my setup. Anyone dissagree?

Just be sure you know what your getting yourself into....
$2,000 minimum for used KB
$1200+ heads
$200 cam
$150 cobra lower (or keep stock)
$500+ tune
$300 injectors
$250 MAF

to make your setup efficient, you should look into meth injection..but then you will be looking at block replacement since your torque levels will surpass the limits of the stock block.

Just a fair warning!!!!

My advice would be to bolt on a 6psi s trim on your current setup, and/or invest in a H C I
