Ok my kb2.2 blowzilla is arriving tomarrow
. I'm new to the fuel injected scene, so I've talked to Kennedy, KenneB, and all the local shops. When I ask them what to run with this blower, I keep getting way different answers.
My motor is STOCK daily driven 89GT 124,xxx. It will see about +/- 8lbs of boost. When this motor is laid down to rest I plan on a new short block (DSS?), so any fuel pump, mass air, ect. I might add should be "small enough" for stock motor and "big enough" for the new one.
Basically what ALL do I need to get this thing running??
Here are my thoughts:
I have 24# injectors, 75mm mass air, feeding into a 70mm throttle body.
The only shop around that can burn chips charges 500 for the chip, and 290 for the dyno time.
Because of this, mail order chips seem the way to go, since my motor is stock, I imagine they would match up alright, conservative, but would get the job done.
1. Would the kennebell switch chip be a wise choice?
2. Are 24's too small?
3. Do I need a new fuel pump for 24#? (boost-a-pump, intank, inline?)
4. What about timing, does the chip do this, or do I need a timing retard?
I know this is a long thread, but I really want to do this the right way, the first time. Hope you guys can help!
