Key Fob window down??????

Mine was built 02/05 according to the sticker on the door and the window-down feature does work using the alarm fob. I bought my GT lightly used, so I don't know what was ordered with it, but I'm guessing I have the active alarm feature. I did notice that it tries to continue to unlock the locks while I hold the unlock button and the windows are going down.

1) Are the windows supposed to go back up if I lock it using the fob? Would be nice, but doesn't seem to work.

2) With the alarm ON and the top DOWN, should the interior alarm sensor set the alarm off? If so, in what conditions? I shook the seats and that didn't set it off...

Shaking the seat isn't going to set it off. It's not that kind of alarm. Yes, you have the Active Anti-Theft option.

you put the key in door and hold in lock position window well go back up

Ok, start over for me; I got here late. I wasn't even aware of this feature. I do have the active alarm and my GT was built 10-19-06. Explain to me how it works, please.

This option was discontinued early last year . You could open the windows by holding the unlock on your remote if you had factor alarm or what ever its called. But peoples windows were coming down after rain or washing thier cars .Water was aparently geting in the lock making the switch close and down would come windows at weird times. Ford in there infenite wisdom instead of fixing it they discontinued the option

do you

a) have the active alarm?
and
b) are you sure that the dealer didnt disable it for you?

many dealers disabled it without telling customers.

Bought mine 11/04, I have it. It's a feature I often have to "reboot", though.

I have the feature on mine and it works great. The car was delivered in October 2004

Took delivery of mine 11/04 and have the feature, it's never malfunctioned and I use it often. I am also curious about the re-boot, how is that done and what situation would cause you to have (want) to re-boot?

Window's Closing

I know I had this feature on my '05 delivered in Nov '04. Trouble is, the feature caused my windows to mysteriously go up and down on their own. I thought I was losing my mind until finally reading these forums. I imagine they discontinued it because of this. I've finally convinced the service department that something is messed up and they are apparently installing a new componenent. I guess I will no longer have this feature on the FOB, but if it fixes the problem of coming back to an absolutely soaked vehicle from a downpoar of rain, I'm happy.

I live in AZ and we haven't had rain in 119 days...hope the first day it rains I don't come out to the windows being down!

I've had a number of oddities happen -

only one window going down when using the remote feature

both windows go down using the remote, but stop when I release the Unlock button (usually, once they start down, they open all the way)

the buttons on the door acting up. Auto-up/auto-down not working - I need to keep my finger/s on the button/s to keep the window/s going up/down. Note, this only happens when I use the buttons on the door, having earlier used the keyfob to lower the windows

the final seal of the window not working. Either the windows go all the way up before I close the door (ie, they don't wait until the door is closed before going up that last 1/4 of an inch to form the seal into the liner), or, once I close the door, they don't jump the last 1/4 inch to form the seal.

I haven't had to do this for a while, so I can't remember exactly what I do, but it's some manner of cycling through the operation of the windows, with the buttons and the keyfob. If I don't do this, whatever problem I have with the windows does not go away, but once I do it, they go back to normal.

EDIT : by the way, for what it's worth, I've never had the windows roll down by themselves, BUT, I have used the keyfob to roll them down, then used the door buttons to auto-up once I got out of the car, only to notice that my driverside window went up as expected, but the passenger one is only partially up. Obviously, what has happened is that the driverside auto-up has worked, but the passengerside window only went up whilst I had my fingers on the door buttons, because the auto-up feature on that side malfunctioned. I just wonder if the reports of windows rolling down by themselves is actually a case of them never having gone up properly in the first place?

That's really weird. I'd have that checked out. I've had mine for a year now and never had any problems like that.

Being home only one working day a week (Friday), means I'm loath to part with my car fixes to stuff I can almost live with. I'll probably have it looked at prior to the warranty expiration, along with the rattling dash, skipping Shaker and the new gas tank (replaced under the Ford TSB) which sometimes only allows me to fill to 1/2 a tank.

get it documented now, so that way they dont give to any problems when your warranty is about to expire. warranty is all about documentation.
