My car doesn't run anywhere near 10 sec, and Ive still got a nice crisp 100 any time this guy thinks his H22 will take my stang.

He might win, and then again he might not.... :D

yep, I will run him all day long. I don't care what they've done unless it is a turbo. those are the only hondas that keep up, or beat me.

Yeah that kid at PIR had a turbo quialude', he ran like a 13.9 to my 13.5

That was my lone moment of glory.... the other two passes I was getting walked by a Chevelle and by Will.

193 whp H22 in a Civic = somewhere in the 13 second range, depending on the weight of the car. I call BS on that car beating 90% of the stangs out there... unless you're of course counting V6's, which do account for the vast majority of Mustang sales. :D

I saw a turbo integra last year run 13.1 or 13.2 something like that. Dont remember the trap speed.

The guy next to me on one of my runs ran... I want to say a 12.2? in a Turbo Integra at PIR. He't they cool guy that operates the dyno at Torquefreaks.

For humor, we were talking about the run, and I beat him by 9 tenths to the 1/8 mile. He beat me by 5 tenths at the 1/4 :p
He was very jealous of my 60' ;)

13s *are* faster than 90% of the Mustangs out there.

Now... most of us HERE are in the other 10% :D

If I ever get my phone line at home fixed I will post up a link with a guy running decent times with an accord W/an all motor H22.

an accord is a pig for honda, as far as weight goes.

And the weight of the car is ~2200. Compare that to a typical 3200-3400 lb Mustang and it makes sense that 193 whp would take an awful lot of stock or mildly modified V8 Mustangs...

did it say in the artical why his license were suspended? how do any of you know that he wasent just out for one of those "i wounder what i can max out at runs?" i have done it in the past and i can bet that the majority of us on here has as well, maybe not in there stang but in another car they have had. i think most of us are comming down on this kid because of the type of car? would it change if it were a stang the way you are seeing it? if i remember right i posted a couple months ago about maxing out my stang and i dont recall getting slammed on like this kid is? peace

Yes I have been out for a couple max speed runs. But since I have my CDL A. I haven't tried it in my Cobra. And since the other 2 runs were a Plymouth Voyager and a Geo Tracker. I'm thinking my high speed runs were nothing to be proud of. And far short of 142mph. And no my opinion of his stupidity is not because of the car he drives. I think it has to do with.
"As the speeding car wove in and out of traffic" or
"was driving without insurance and with a suspended license." And then the excuse.
"Champ, who was alone in the vehicle, said he was trying to catch up to someone who had thrown a bottle at his car." Of course apparently the chase only lasted as long as the stoplight.

No, people are down on him because it's stupid.

Not to say that I haven't done it before, but it was stupid when I did it too ;)

lmao....true true, we have all done some stupid things. What is important is not getting caug.....er i mean learning from others mistakes...yea, thats it:)

I have peeled a few to many people out of thier cars after they made a mistake at normal to excessive speeds. So I honestly drive like a grandma.

Next time you are sitting in your car, try to imagine your legs wrapped around the clutch and brake pedals. Or the roof collapsed around your head. Nothing like the site of someones eyeball poking out of thier head from driving like a dumbass To make you want to start going the speed limit and allowing for proper braking distance.

i agree with all of you on this it was stupid weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed. atleast when i've done the three max out runs 2 of them were at midnight or so and the other one was at 3 A.M in utah in the middle of nowhere seriously there was no gas stations for like 165 miles, and i wasent cutting threw traffic either. BTW i drive the speed limit as well due to the fact of all the imagies i seen at a young age when my parents were EMT'S. i seen a lady smeared by an 18 wheeler that was going 55+ as she walked across the road, as well as several others as i was traveling the U.S in the day's and one time going to chicago when a 5 car pyle resulted in a car going under a truck and everyone loosing. oh yeah and i dont want any tickets hurting my perfect 5 year record :D peace
