Knocking possible bearings?

It sounds to be the bearing's or a slight rod knocking? What i'm wanting to know is can i put some thick ass oil in it to do away with the noise or is there something on the market to quite it up? It dosent smoke or anything just sound like a rod knocking or the bearings. We are thinking about trading it in and i dont want them to hear this noise, i'm a preaty honest person but if i take it to them sounding like this then we wont get as much. She is trying to just swap stright across for like an accord, because she see's the name FORD and thinks like most people out there does (chevy guy's) and another reason is because the other accord we have has 270,000 on it and has been a great car, just looks like hell and gets good and better milage then the explorer. Any help would be great!!!!! peace

theres no way it can be a slight rod knocking you can hear that crap a mile away. A bearing would be a irratic ticking sound More sever than a exhaust leak

dude..if its a Honduh , cant you just go to Kmart and buy a bling bling fart can for it? that should be loud enough to cover up any engine noises.

no i'm talkin bout the explorer, she wants another honda to trade it for. As for the knocking sound or whatever it's not loud loud but you can hear it. Kinda a deisel engine sound but not that loud, you cant hear it in the car when your in it. peace
