Knocking

hey everyone
i have a knocking shound comming from my engine. it happens randomly, sometimes once every 10 sec, and sometimes not at all. its not internal, its when the engine moves bc sometimes when you push on the engine it will make the knocking sound....Does anyone have any idea what it is??
