Hey guys... Need some advice.

I need to dispute payment for my tranny rebuild but I am curious as to how easy it is to place, and what effect a mechanics lien would have on my car.

Just to clarify - I dropped my car off at the tranny shop - I told themn, figure out whats wrong and let me know - and they clearly looked and found quite a few things... Flywheel needed to be re-surfaced, Clutch replaced, rear main engine seal re-done, and the tranny rebuilt. So I pay the 1800 and they do all the work, I get the car back on Friday, Tuesday I bring it back cause its not shifting smoothly.. grinding in certain gears, etc. It sits for a week cause they say it needs a bushing - I keep calling cause they dont update me, and I find out it needs a yolk - that they cant find... and that I dont NEED to replace, but if I dont they wont warranty the tranny - so I feel as though I am being extorted and forced into replacing this piece. Now one of his mechanics has one, and for $80 they'll put it in... I said no, called back and said fine - now the price is $100!?!? I bitched, and he said Ok fine Ill give you the $20 - $80 and its done.

The guy admits that they should have seen it when they took the tranny apart the first time, and just to be kind they rebuilt the whole transmission again for me...??? Sounds like **** - I think they didnt do **** the first time they had it!

What do you guys think? I've been out a car for 2.5 weeks now, and new charges and **** keep arising - and the guy is basically forcing me to get new **** done. Im not concerned with him suing me, but I want to sell the car so would he be able to easily put a lien on it? and if so, what effect would that have?

If it helps - Im in Florida (law might be different)

Thanks!
