All right,

I have Mac L/T headers, ,and am really tired of the work I have to go through to get the tranny out. I have heard that Flowtech headers let the tranny drop, is that true? On Summit, they have these.. headers for only $230 or so.
The picture on the site, shows a ball and socket type thing, like the MAC.

If I were to switch headers, will these bolt right up to my MAC shorty H-Pipe?

My other option is, is to find some shorty headers, and then get another long h or x pipe...

What should I do, cause these MAC l/ts have to go.

Yes it is true that the Flowtechs allow you to drop the trans without removing a header. They are not a ball and socket, they are a flange collector design. If you look at that bottom header in the pic, the flange can slide up and down the tube.

No they will not bolt up to it because they are a flange. However....they come with extra flanges so you can modify your existing pipe to bolt to their header.

i asked andy at MPH about those headers once while i was there. we'll just say he wasn't a fan AT ALL.

& btw clay, you can get the tranny out without even loosening the mac lt's. i know everyone says you have to, but they're wrong. when i put in my new tranny we took it loose, pushed it up slightly, & turned it to a 90 angle towards the passenger side & it dropped right out.

the only thing you have to be careful with when you do this is to take out the o2 sensors. if you don't do that, you'll cut the wires on the o2's cause it's a tight fit

I am not a fan of the Flowtechs design either, but I wanted to try them out. They are a good header for the price, but they aren't a BBK or a hooker either.

As for the Macs, you never know as some can install LT's without removing the K member.
