I believe my 89 GT has a cooling problem. My electrical AutoMeter Gauge says I am at 210-220 while driving and creeps up if I idel for more than a few min. The AutoMeter sender is mounted in the intake manifold in place of the OEM sender. I have an aluminum radiator and recently flushed the system. The hoses never feel like they are under pressure. I just replaced the radiator cap with a 16 psi cap and no change. With the engine up to temp and the radiator cap off I can see the coolant moving slowly through the radiator. I believe the water pump is working because the radiator hoses will get hot but they will not feel like they have any pressure in them. Any suggestions?
Another question - where can I get a water neck with a threaded hole so I can install the AutoMeter sender in the water neck and re-install the OEM sender in the manifold so my OEM gauge will work.
