Largest tires possible for my 66?

10 inches of width. with the proper offset wheel will give you enuf clearance on the inside of the wheelhouse and the wheel lip on the outside. without doing any mods. and with that width you wii probably have to stay about 26 inches in hight. which in a 15 inch ta is a 245x50 I think.

What are the largest tires possible for my 66 coupe without any cutting or modifying. I"m lookin at the Radial T/A's and am mainly looking for width. So whats the largest size i could get?

Are you willing to roll the fender lips?

although i cant remember the backspacing on the rim... 7 inches wide though i think
but the 235's look nice when its all clean n stuff
i know the pics dont look flattering, you just have to take my word for it
but hey go larger if you can fit it / afford it :)

woa, take it easy guys... don't make fun of a muscle car no matter how not your style it is. if he has it like that then he probably wants it to be like that, and hey i bet it hooks like theres no tomorrow. also, i thought that this site was to help people, not make fun of there mustang. i think if he likes it then its good, its not like it has a fart muffler or a "wing" on it or anything..

either way, i think 245s are what you can safely say fites. anything above is up to you, like thoughs 255, nice ass job, and i bet no one said it would fit.

No one is making fun of anyone just giving an opinion were still allowed to have them and as far as hooking up with that setup I dont think so. Not only will it wont hook up with that whole setup it is dangerous hit a good bump cut a tire. ill handling and other things And if he likes his car that way then more power to him. but with the right sized wheels and tires that car would look in my Opinion alot better drive better hook up better and handle better.

firstly no one said anything about not being allowed to express opinions. you can do that alll u want, knowing when to express them is another story... hell lets see a pic of your car and lets make a few opinions about it. i'm just saying that a lot of guys around here act like morons when they see somthing they don't like.. as for it not hooking, how the hell do u know what his setup is? all you can see are the ends of the shackels and the tires... thats not enough info to make such a comment...

it's not enough info just look at it if you would like I could go into great detail why that suspension wont work and I dont need to climb under it to see that! I'm not here to get into a bitchfest with you. But I have a pretty good rep on what suspensions hook and ones that do not. It is kind of a proffessional specialty, but I'm not going to go into details. but you probably have much more experience than I do so I'll call you the winner and congradulate you. Maybe one day I'll see you at the track and we can discuss my setup and I'll be glad to go into detail on the dynamics of leaf sprung cars and how to make them work and how not to. see yah
