Late shifting 4R70W

I recently installed the Superchips 1725 tuner and so far it's been ok, it was a gift from the wife, I didn't have the heart to say that I would prefer the SCT. Anyways I installed the 91 tune and adjusted the shift pressure up two notches on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift and as far as shift feel, it's great. The shift points are set as stock and the tranny is shifting at over 6000:nono: Does the shift pressure tell the tranny when to shift? I reset the shift point down one notch to try and get it to shift early with a goal of 5500-5800. Is tweaking the computer in my car over time going to mess it up ??

Help

Thanks Ram

i had it on my car with the shift firmness two notches from the max and shift point two from the max on all shifts. to me it was ok....but I after seeing my best friends 01 gt with minor bolton's Air Fuel ratio i took mine off. I just use mine now to read codes cause I'm going with a Xcal2.

The superchips tech support is not very good, 97gt, if the a/f ratio's were bad on your freinds car due to the Superchips tuner wouldn't the parameters that your the O2 sensores have, turn a check engine on? Is it normal for auto's to shift late? If it's true that auto shift late on the 1-2 shift wouldn't that run the possiblity of over-reving the engine which would cause damage?

the real reason why i took it off cause i couldn't find a point at like 5800 or so when it shift gears nicely... it seemed like it was slipping into gear. as for the a/f ratio the computer will compensate to what it needs to still run. i remember when i had the shift point all the way up on my programmer and it shifted at about 6,100+.....i was like wow i don't trust this....so i read the dtc's and i trip the max rev limiter code. i'd rather get something more reliable. and the xcal2 is the answer for what i'm getting ready to do.

97GT, wow that was an answer that I was hoping not to hear. oh well. I'm hearing lots of problems from owners with this Superchips max micro tuner. I'm removing mine today. My shifts are so unreliable :bs:

The sadd part about this is that I can't really sell it to anyone because I don't want to sell someone a peice of crap. I might try to call them today and see what they say. I'll let you know.

Thank for all your help

I called Superchips and talked to Ryan who seems very knowledgble and helpful unlike the others that I talked to there. I'm sending it back for them to look at, they think it's a corrupted file in the tuner??? At least they seem eager to fix it. I'll save the flaming until I have results from them.
