Anything/anyone have any input as to any bugs/issues/likes/dis-likes with the new vers.?

Thank you for the heads up. I like that sites setup over there. The "other" eectuning forum I can no longer log into??? though . I have tried to get a lost password but no dice and it has all my info I just dont get a email??

I usually let others jump on the "newest version" bandwagon and see how things go for them when it comes to software or hardware.

I've been burnt too many times ....... and .........

I agree with your line of thinking on the new version the old one has not been too bad for me. The only issue I have seen myself with the old version is the log spikes and I just use the filter in EA to take those out.

It would be nice to just save the maf curve and import it to and from EA...if it does work...if.

Grady, I have been able to load CalEdit v1.2 simultaneous with both v1.3A9 and A10 on my laptop. There may be underlying issues though, as I always have used A10 to tune.
I think I created a separate installation folder for each version?
I would have to double check that though.

It has been pointed out to me that in A10 you cannot select an entire Table/Function (by selecting one cell and dragging over the others), but you can do this in A9. The A10 version has a scroll type sub window that appears in the cell you have selected.
Mike explained this to me as a bug with the selection software that he purchased for this purpose. I guess you can have the scroll sub-windows or the multi-cell select, but not both.
I don't care either way, because I have yet to find a reason to select multiple cells.

Mike also has informed me that the A10 version was initially released to the SHONut guys. They were supposed to do some preliminary troubleshooting on the upgrade. The impression I got was that A10 had some updates specifically for the SHO guys, but little else.

I have not had any issues with using A10, other than the stupid "Update Only" box selecting itself.

I'll just stick with my old friend V1.20

It works every time (although it has a bug or two) and I like how I can get to the data quickly as the raw data has the file association setup to open in Excell

I also like the idea of not having to filter all d logs through EA

Here is a thing or two I've seen from looking at both versions of data logs

I've been using the Tweecer from almost its inception so I did not have access to data Analyzer tools for a very long time.

The default play back viewer in all versions of CalCon was pretty much useless to me. True ... the dashboard and window value displays look cool and all ... but still ... at least to my way of thinking ... Mostly Bells & Whistles.

I found looking at the raw data in Excell gave me a better view of the big picture

I could use Excells filters to quickly find average, low, and high values

I also could quickly throw the data in a chart for a revealing view of what was really going on

Log Analyst then came along

It allows for a quick & easy view of charted AND raw data display with one click to switch back and forth between them ... Thank You Daren

Log Analyst also has EXCELLENT file comparison abilities which I found so helpful

When EEC Analyzer came along, I found it to be a great tool and used it right along with my older ways of analyzing data.

I just found E A to be more cumbersome ... some of the time
I could click on a file in Explorer and see my data pop up in Excell before E A had even opened up

The help files in E A are great ... no doubt about it, Clint did an excellent job with the software ... but I did not use them all that much

Over time ... I found I used E A ... less and less.

Here is where I found 1.30 to be

Around the time 1.30 came out, I was working with various people and they went to 1.30. I could not use my choice of tools to analyze their data with the newer 1.30 CalCon version

I spent like TWO HOURS on the first 1.30 data log a guy sent me before I figured out the the spikes & dropouts in the raw data was skewing the results and each and every one of them had to be found and deleted before I had accurate data to work with.

I'll put it like this ... a BIG pile of bs ... if i ever saw one

That kind of thing says the product should not have passed some kind of Quality Control if you ask me.

btw ... 1.20 does not have data dropouts & spikes

Anyway ... sorry for the rant ... but ...

Analyzing software is supposed to be a tool to help me

Not cause more work for me

One last thing Jason ..........

We only addressed the datalogging ...............

We didn't even talk about the tuning software ...............

I don't believe that for a second.
Actually, Visual Basic is included with Excel.
If you select Tools > Macro > Record New Macro
then every click you make will be recorded in Visual Basic (you can go back and edit manually later too).

I am not sure if the version of Excel will make a difference as to what level of VB is offered.
