Recently got this 92 GT and am having some electrical issues (or so it seems) First, the radio wont hold any presets when the car is shut off, almost like the battery gets dinsconnected when the car is turned off. it as an aftermarket Sony btw, so I dont know if it has to do with the car or the radio itself. Second, i know factory 5.0 gauges are nothing to be happy with, but mine just suck. The water temp hardly goes up at all, ever. oil pressure stays above the middle line no matter what, and the volts stays below the halfway mark. And none of them ever move, they just stay there after driving. they do move when shut off, but not while driving like they should. Also, the speedo works until about 40 mph, they gows up extremely slow. At about 75 mph reads 55. Any input appreciated

The battery gauge should go to zero when the key is OFF.

The radio probably doesn't have the small memory wire connected (usually labelled "battery" or something)

Agreed with the above-post. A moron probably tied the memory and accessory leads together when he wired up the deck.

Your gauges (sans the speedo) don't sound all that bad. They have tremendous hysteresis built into them so owners dont freak out when the needle moves. Service depts got sick of people coming in for no reason.

As you know, get some decent gauges going and you'll be happy.

And enjoy the new ride. :nice:

simple fix on the radio, the yellow wire coming out of the back of the radio harness is constant power and the red is the accessory wire. The accessory wire is the wire that turns off when the key is off and on when its on. If someone cut the clips off and its ghetto rigged and doesn't have the stock wire harness connector take a wire tester and find the wire that stays on when the key is off and that would go to the yellow and the the one that turns off and on with the key should go to the red.
