So I'm lowering my car about 1.75" with the Tokico handling kit and I want to get LCA's with that also. I was looking at the stangsuspension street LCA and was wondering if any of you have first hand experience with this product.
I'm not big into drag racing so 60' times are not on my priorities list, but I do not want to sacrifice too much of launching traction.

I realize that there's another thread for control arms going on here, but it seems like it's more geared towards drag racing.

Thanks guys.

it's geared for drag racing cuz thats what aftermarket LCA's are for, tire planting. Most all aftermarket LCA's are urethane bushing, and therefore allow limited articulation at the axle end and increased fore and aft deflection at the chassis end in turn applying increased lateral torque on the whole torque box. LCA's will most likely get you a harsher ride if they are good, and IMO are not best suited for twisties. Get some FL SFC's if you haven't already

What are your priorities with the LCA's? Besides sacrificing launch traction.

Well I thought I'd need LCA's because someone brought up the fact that my suspension geometry will go out of spec after lowering my car 1.7", and compensation will be needed. I know I'll need CC plates, bumpsteer kit, and sway bar endlinks, but what about the rear? Can I just leave the rear alone?

yeah, leave the rear alone - just get an alignment after

Hey Chris, would you recommend the standard or full-length MM SFC's?

I got the MM FL SFC's welded on last month. Car seems quieter, as in fewer rattles. Just a good thing to do if you plan on keeping your stang for a while. Seems to enhance the other suspension mods and it's not very expensive, in the grand scheme of things.

Oh yeah and go with their CC plates too. The guy who just did my alignment seemed pretty impressed with them. I'm a pretty big fan of MM right now.

I disagree with Cobra Red on this one.

you REALLY need a set of good LCAs for the twisties.

The stock LCAs do a horrible on holding the suspension on place. They are pretty much home depot rain gutters. They flex causing unstable rear end reactions.

My MM LCAS mad a huge difference on how the rear end feels when turning. If feels very planted and doesnt feel like the rear end is flexing

i could possibly be off, i might be attributing that harshness to UCA's. But i still wouldnt do it unless it for the track (autoX or drag)

LCA will blow your mind on anycar... street shows the big difference. Ford did such a ****ty job designing those Stock LCA's that they tried to correct the problem of BS LCAs with a Quad Shock

So after installing aftermarket 'street' LCA's, can I ditch the quad shocks?
Are the 'street' versions even worth anything? Should I just get Extreme HD LCA's from MM?

Aftermarket LCAs make a huge positive difference on road courses.
The best LCA for handling is one that maintains a full range of designed articulation but does not flex out of the designed range of movement; the stock LCA only meets one of those criteria.

1. Yes
2. Unless in the immediate future you are installing a big power adder and plan on going to the dragstrip every weekend, you really want the regular heavy duty version. The Extreme duty versions have spherical bushings at both ends of the arm, which will give you a pickup in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). You won't ever notice a traction performance difference between the versions unless you are really gonna go all out with drag racing this car.

Yes and No.

The new LCA's will hold up better than stock and you can remove the quadshock for normal street use. However, they will not eliminate axle side to side movement complately and you may still notice more of it at the drag strip.. The Best setup to fully eliminate this problem is remove the UCA's, install a LCA/ Panhard Bar and Torque Arm setup.

Only certain designs/brands of LCA's will allow the removal of the quad shocks.

Honostly, i would strongly recommend going all Maximummotorsports..
unlike other brands, everything fits right, was meant to be used together when it comes to performance handling etc..
to be completely honest though, if u arent concerned about handling much, i wouldnt bother with lca's... i personally didnt think they helped a tremendous amount.. the PHB though really made those lcas worthwhile... i also hear the torque arm is going to be an ever better add on... of course u need to have all the previously mentioned parts to get the torque arm though, in that order.
it terms of NVH, i didnt really notice a difference with my lca's...

I noticed a little bit more NVH when I installed my MM LCA's. I did not go with the Extreme Duty ones because the car is pretty much a weekend driver/occasional track car that doesn't have a ton of hp. I will be upgrading when I install the NX Kit.
