i did the shelby drop and a pair of 620 coils in the front of my 68 coupe and i am wondering the best way to lowere the rear. i want the car to sit even or as close as possible, so i was thinking somewhere near 1.5-2" lowering springs or blocks, something like that. any ideas?

4.5 leaf mid eyes should level it out for you.

Stock the cars came nose up.
620 1 inch drop springs usually end up making the car look higher since most people who put them are replacing 40 yr old springs.

The shelby drop nets you about .25 to .5 drop.

The mid eyes are advertised to drop you about an 1.

I run a 5 leaf mid eye pack on my 65 and sit just about level with the rear slightly higher (marginally at best). If you lightened up the leaf pack a little it would sit lower slightly and ride a little smoother too....if that is important to you.

This will also net you new springs front and back for overall performance. Now if you have already put springs in the rear and now you want to adjust to the front height, a 1 inch block is what I would look at.

Like Dodge said do mid eye leafs in a 4.5

I wanted mine to be very low and stiff in the rear for drag racing and so I have 5 leaf reverse eye out back and 620's w/ 1/3 of a coil cut out up front and I am still slightly lower in the rear than up front.

For me I don't mind as it isn't that obvious to the naked eye and the car does what I want it to do at the track...

If you don't want to buy springs, a spring shop can de-arch them. I would steer clear of blocks for wheel hop complications, however if the leafs have not been off for 40 years, removal can be an all day affair.

I would go with the five leafs. I have the mid-eye, 4 1/2 leaf. I believe the spring rate is a little soft in the upper mph range. i am looking into 5 leafs or a monoleaf spring.
