So I recently purchased a '90 hatch. The seals all look good but the passenger door leaks. It also doesn't appear to set in like the drivers door does. Ie there is a gap between the a-pillar and the door that doesn't exist on the drivers side. It let's a LOT of water in the car.

Suggestions to fix? Is this a weatherstrip issue or a body issue?

For reference, here's what my non-leaking drivers door looks like-

Check the drain holes at the bottom jamb of the door. If they get clogged then water will fill up in the door and spill over into the carpet area.

Looks like you may have a door hinge issue. When you open the door and grab the bottom can you lift the door up ? If you take the fender plastic out you can adjust that gap. The bolts holding the hinges to the body need to be loosened...a thick rag on top of a jack and an extra hand are needed.

That was my initial thoughts, but I couldn't feel the door lift when I opened it but I didn't try to lift from the bottom. I'll do that in the morning and see what happens.

Nah I sat in the car with water running on it today and physically saw where it was coming in thru the top of the door jamb around the weatherstrip.
