hello everyone
new dude here
i don't have a mustang,i have a 98 4.6l 2v expedition
basically it is a mustang engine so hotrodding it is similar to a mustang
gonna mod it in stages starting with pi heads on non pi block
not sure about the intake yet probably get the pi intake with the heads
port and polish heads/intake before install
later maybe rebuild heads depends on my finances at the time
install a turbo dyi
upgrade suspension
so as i do these things over the next year i'll have a progress thread w/pics

There was a guy who built a supercharged 97-01 Expedition and had a pretty good write-up on it. I can't seem to find it but a local guy bought it when I saw it. Should be a fun project.

mine is a 98 expedition so i have the cable throttle body
i was gonna get my pi heads/intake from a stang gt
but my research has me leaning toward heads/intake from a navigator
i was gonna go with the same headers you have but i'm gonna start with flipping my manifolds backwards and installing a low buck turbo
basically i'm gonna build a ford thunder
you know i'm going to name it Blue Thunder
i intro'ed myself in the welcome wagon thread
check it out

ok so i 'm posting on multiple you might see me elsewhere

i'm still in the research phase on my truck
so i run across a twin turbo install on a Mach 1 mustang
dude is putting on a Hellion twin turbo kit that mounts under the the car
that got me to thinking, but 1st he are the vids

so after watching the series of vids
i look under my truck and to see if i can do this and yeah i can
i can mount turbos right after the manifolds
but before i describe my new hypothetical set-up
let me explain my old thoughts on turbo set up
i was gonna flip my manifolds around and put either a one or twin in the front engine bay
to do this you have to find a spot to mound turbo/turbos and then move relocate stuff to put them there
on a single turbo build you have to feed the exhaust into one turbo which means moving more stuff and installing a crossover pipe
the same applies to a twin turbo build except that a crossover is not needed
next you have to have a downpipe for the turbo/turbo exhaust
here is a series of vids where a guy puts a cxracing mustang turbo kit on a F150

on my 1998 ford 2v 4.6l expedition the is not much room in the engine bay and routing downpipes from the front would be doable
but a nightmare
so the turbo/turbos mounted right after the manifold/headers(i found a cheap pair of equal tube length headers at maxpeeding)
here's a link for that

https://www.maxpeedingrods.com/prod...rd-f150-f250-expedition-xlt-46l-v8-97-03.html

summit racing and jeg's also have similar headers at around $200
i'll get some good ones later but i'll start with the cheap stuff first

anyway back to the design
if i mount turbos under the truck i can route all of my hotside there
very little modification is needed
all i have to do then is route my coldside up to the front and route lubrication to the turbos(I'll use a pump and a cooler for the oil system)

on a side note does anyone have experience with a water to air intercooler for the cold side?

Just signed up for the forum, I have a 1969 Mustang coupe with a 302 2bbl with a C4. It has the fake hood scoop with turn signals and fake air intakes on the side. I have had the rear quarter panels and valance panels replaced and the engine rebuilt so that I can use unleaded. Still have a long way to go to completely restore. gkwizman
