Im converting to a Explorer intake on my 95 GTS and therefore will be needing a 86-93 style intake plaque. Im looking for ideas, I dont care for the explorer intake cover plate, but do kinda like the standard 5.0 HO factory one. Im looking for ideas on what to use. does anyone know of any good places to find an assortment of plaques?

I don't know where you can get the original new, but Mustang's Unlimited has some aftermarket ones.

Yea the stock 5.0 one can look pretty sweet with some time. I just painted mine with some med gloss black and polished the high spots, turned out real nice too, and with minimal effort. Also painted the upper and valve covers a med gloss black as well.

Looks sweet 88-GT. I saw this pic of a explorer intake done simuliar and I want to do mine the same. What paint did you use and how has it held up to the engine heat?

Well it is in my back yard for winter storage at the moment so I can not atest to how it will hold up but I have no worries that it won't. I used VHT's engine block paint and just spent a good amount of time prepping it. Yea I was really impressed with the way it turned out, but now all I have done is make more work for myslef cause now everything else looks bad next to it. Oh well I guess it's an addiction I can be proud of.:SNSign:

If the plate wasn't clear coated after you finished then you will have to reploish it.

I have had to do mine a couple of times.
