4 years ago i had the compressor replaced on my stang because it went out and the a/c didnt blow cold. Ever since it was replaced the A/C Has worked amazingly.

Well i have noticed that over time the air doesnt blow as cold as it did before. YES the air does blow cold and works, it just takes a little longer to get the car cold and doesnt keep it as cold...But still cold enough.

I am thinking the car just needs a A/C Recharge since its been 4 years. I talked to Ford and they said it could be Anything and could be leaking. I doubt a leak because it still blows cold, just not SUPER DUPER NEW cold.

What do you guys think? Has anyone ever used a Home Recharge kit? Or should i let the "Stealership" have a crack at it and pay them $$$?

my dad uses home recharge kits all the time. theres nothing special to them. its extremely simple for both old and new A/C units.

do it youself. youll be fine.

Here's right, was in Long Beach this weekend and it was 74 degrees. Pretty warm here in SD too.
Then again, i use my A/C twice a year man - do people really use it in their mustangs much?

So you must be experiencing the same thing....

I used to be able to get the car FREEZING with Max AC with the fan on setting 2....now i need setting 3 to get it the same coldness and it takes longer also.

is this what you are experiencing?

Get the Synthetic Arctic Freeze with the cool boost. It comes in a silver can and get the better fill hose with the gauge and valve on it. Dont let the gauge get into the yellow area cause it wont blow as cold but when you add that stuff (and A/C systems ALL have very minute leaks) it will make a very noticeable drop in temp
I hve use that stuff on at least 10 cars and it always blew ALOT colder. Its a must have for crappy Fox A/C's
Also shake the hell out of the can for a couple minutes and when filling make sure the can is right side up. Upside down it puts more lube in the system then the refrigerent itself and dosent work as well eaither. Also you will only really get 2/3 of the can in there.

Correct. When filling be careful, I've had one of those seals bust while filling it (broken o-ring caused by bad motor mounts) and it scared the crap out of me.
