Its time for some new brake pads, the ones i have now are **** and get redish brake dust all over my wheels which keeps them impossible to keep clean. Whats everyone running? I had some hawks on my fox and they seemed pretty damn good. Thanks

I'm currently running EBC "Green" pads. I like them a lot.

They get a good bite once you warm them up. They are super quiet, and what dust they do produce (which isn't that much) will wipe off with your finger (organic pad). They've been on the car for almost 3 years probably and still have a good bit of life left.

I've always been a fan of the Hawk HPS pads. I installed them on my car and they bite really well and don't dust at all. I also convinced my dad to upgrade his stock pads to the Hawk HPS pads on his '08 STS-V and it made a world of difference. The stockers on his caddy dusted like crazy, but with the Hawk HPS pads there is no more dust.

rotor-eaters

the cheap autozone are dirty but stop good & dont eat up the rotors plus they have a lifetime warranty change them once a year for free ! some pads are just too hard & burn up the rotors unless your in the Indy 500 I cant see the use for the expensive rotor eaters , I had the counter guy bring out the best ones in stock $90.... looked at the box made in India & nothing about a lifetime warranty ......NOTHANKYOU :rlaugh:

My Hawk HPS pads have been on my car for over 60K miles and they stop great, haven't "burned" up the rotors, don't dust, and have at least 50% of the pad material left. Not sure why anyone would want cheap autozone brake pads that dust like crazy and need to be replaced often  Most of us Mustang owners like to keep our cars and wheels clean.

Porterfield>Hawk

Hawks dusts WAY too much.

I haven't had any experience with Porterfield pads but I'll take your word that they are good pads. However, do you have first hand experience with the HPS pads from Hawk? I know you are a detail freak like me and I can honestly say the HPS pads don't dust at all. I've gone 300 miles between washes before and there was literally no dust on my wheels when I did wash them. Hawk does make more than one brake pad, perhaps you are referring to one of their other pad types.

dont ever reccomend auto zone parts to me ever.

anyone else running the EBC pads?

If you buy your pads at the Ford parts counter they will come with new stainless rattle clips and you can get an FRPP catalog and :bs: with the parts guys while you are there.

If you buy your pads at an auto parts store you may get the wrong part, will not get rattle clips, and you will be horrified at the advice and content of the automotive "tech" conversations taking place all around you.

Its your call man :rlaugh:

Last i recall the REALLY REALLY cheap autozone pads arent even riveted. YES that means the pad is GLUED to the backplate!!! A friend of mine had an experience where the pad actually came off the backplate. HHes a cheapo and will never buy Autozone pads again....Remember Pads can be a Life Saving part.

I usually use a Ceramic....Like a Bendix. They dust gray like the color of my rims. That reddish/brown dust is a pain to clean.

no autozone parts for me, i buy the best for my car.

I absolutely hate Hawk HPS pads. Their bite compared to my OEm Bullitt pads is pathetic, and they suffer from brake fade badly. That's with Bear EradiSpeed rotors, which they have now ruined. I'm going back to OEM Ford pads when these finally go, or I get fed up with them.
