Who likes what, and what is affordable?

I know there are 1 and 2 sensor widebands. 2 sensors would be nice, but not mandatory if the price gets jacked way up. One could always switch banks in a matter of minutes.

I am looking for something that is going to be very accurate. The flash/bling factor is not a concern as long as it works well. I want to be able to keep tabs on what's going on when I am spraying, and I want to tune the car myself with my Diablosport rather than have someone else do the work.

How hard are they to install? I am not great with wiring, but I learned a bit while installing my nitrous kit. Got to start somewhere.

aem is very good, innovate are good as well. havent tried the rest.

I know a lot of people tend to go with either one of those brands. I have heard the AEM UEGO kit is great.

PLX gauges are the best

Gauges, or a whole kit?

AEM UEGO is the best kit in my opinion, and too cheap to pass up.

That is what I was leaning towards also. I have seen them for just under $200. Do you have one, and if so, did you install it, and how hard was the install?

I have an AEM UEGO in my 1999 GT. I got mine brand new (but just opened) for $180 locally on craigslist. The install wasn't bad at all, it comes with complete instructions. The hardest part is welding in a new O2 sensor bung into your exhaust, and postioning it correctly in the exhaust stream to get an accurate reading.

Sounds like you got a good deal.

So you need to weld a new o2 bung in, you can't use either bung for the rear o2 sensors?

Yeah, I believe the computer needs all of the stock O2 sensors in order to run correctly and not throw codes, but I could be 100% wrong on that. In any case, 99.9% of people I've talked to with the UEGO kit have welded in a new bung. Here's the instructions in .PDF format if you want to check them out before buying. :nice:

The item number (if you're looking to buy it on summit or something) is 30-4100, by the way.

I have the rear o2's turned off, so as long as the bungs are the same size, it should work...:nice:

Thanks for that link, those are pretty clear instructions.

If you have your rear 02's shut off in the tune you can use a rear 02 sensor port.

Sure do, that is what I was hoping to hear.

AEM uego here also. great gauge at a great price!

install is simple. IIRC you only need a switched power and ground. i'd get the serial cable so you can datalog with it

That is pretty damn simple.

I may be wrong but I thought the further down stream in the exhaust the less accurate they are.

That is correct. As I understand it, the tail-pipe clamps that most shops use to check the A/F ratio can be up to 1 point off since it's so far back.

I have some ?'s too.

I wanted to run dual wide bands, because I want to keep taps on each cylinder bank. Would I buy two gauges, like 2 AEM kits or i looked at the FAST dual kit but that is not cheap, $480 plus.

I like that the fast can data log and display but do i need to data log?

Can I install a switch to turn the wide band on and off instead of using the ignition switch, already have a switch by my traction control button that was installed for the previous owner's bass that is no longer used?

Lastly can i install the wide band between the factory cats or should it be installed after the cats?

Thanks
