lift clutch pedal to adjust??

well i was reading my owners manual today and every 5,000 miles it says to lift the pedal to re-adjust... is that nessesary?/ ive never heard of that, also, another question..... how much should i tighten the front swaybar nuts... i tighten them so that about 1/2 inch is on top of the nut, should i just tighten it till the screw type thing spins also or how much??

Pulling up on the pedal takes the play out of the cable and will keep your clutch pedal distance correct. You should tighten the nuts till you start to crush the bushing.

so it is a good idea to pull up on the pedal once every 5,000 miles? how much do u pull? is it just like one pull or a bunch of smaller pulls?
i am kinda not sure because sometimes my clutch has a bit of looseness when its out. it just seems its very loose for the first 1/2 to an inch of travel from being completely out.

yeah, mine too, if i pull it up, it comes up about 1/2 an inch to an inch... on my old gt, it was weird, sumthimes it was all the way to the top and sumtimes it was down about 1 inch....

My clutch pedal goes sloppy quite often, and pulling up won't work. I have to reach under the dash and push up on the quadrant. I've got to get it replaced... just never seem to get around to ordering a new one, and I'm not interested in another adjustable plastic one...

just drop the $70 or so and get an aluminum adjustable quadrant. FRPP and Steeda both make quality pieces.
