Only real good things that came out of the trip for me was. A new best trap of 130.89 and hanging out with my daughter .

Well I was puking a little coolant out from under the radiator cap. Then on my last run it really shoved it out, and busted a heater core hose, right as I passed through the traps. I big cloud of white steam pours out of the back. I was racing a Firebird who challenged me right after I went back to my 17's. He was running high 11's. He red lighted and I still drove around and beat him by 4 tenths. I ran a 11.6x almost as good as my best on the 15" ET streets that day.

Traction, track prep. and the staff were terrible. MY best et was 11.57 @ 130.89 with a 1.81 60" also best 60' of the day. I was just spinning through the first 1/2 of the 1/8.

I busted the hose right before I went through traps, and they gave hell for not getting over sooner. I told them I pulled over as fast as I could since I was going almost 130.

I had some extra hose, and my tools, so fixed it, and filled it back up, and all was well as long as I stay out boost.

My clutch fork also came off again at the track. and right before I got home the F'ng passenger side tailpipe falls off Not good

I was having trouble deciding between heads or a bigger supercharger in may but I think my decision has be made for me. I knew I was asking for trouble with still using stock head bolts and gaskets but they lasted for 2 years. These are my plans for May now.

MMR stage 3 heads

Upgrade to MMR stainless Steel swirl polished valves

Upgrade to Comp high performance springs

Upgrade to Titanium Retainers

MMR Racing Bronze Valve Guides

ARP Harmonic Balancer Bolt

MMR/Felpro Head Gaskets

ARP Headstud kit 96-04

Just out of curiosity how much boost are you running? I want to get a S/C this year but was planning on staying at 9-12lbs and was hoping I didnt have to replace head bolts and gaskets for it.

BTW I know you wernt happy with 60' and all but I would KILL for thoes numbers, then when a LS2 Vette pulls up I wont find an excuse not to race

I was seeing about 15 right before I shifted on my cheap gauge.. The temps where in the low 40's. I average low 1.7s with ocassional mid 1.6's I added an 8 point roll bar and subframes and was hoping to drop a tenth on my 60's

Just make sure to use good head studs and gaskets lol. A mmr 2v engine with stage 3 heads just ran a 8.90 at 153. I would bet you should around 600 with a s-trim.

My car drove better on the way than there. It's about a 190 mile one to this track.

Sad thing that you had the problems, but sometimes those are the best things. Then it gives you a valid excuse to do more mods!!!

That's the bad thing, even if you want to do more mods to it, when it breaks it's never a good time. Sounds like you got some sweet runs out of it though before it blew the hose.

Thanks, I'm just bummed I won't have a car for almost 3 months. I endured winter now this.

Here's a pic and vid. The camera is a cheap 5mp still camera so its hard to see the smoke right at the end

if you are still running a single pump i would step up to twin GT pumps in the new Fore percision hat. you may need a new MAF or a MIFIA

you can add about 3K more worth of parts if you really want to.

Well the closest to street trim I have ran since my last dyno is 17" DR's, stock suspension, removed pass and back seats, no spare and no front sway bar. I ran a 11.39 at 127.55. That was at 1150' elevation

Since then I removed some rear panels, rear mach 1 sound system. went a tubular k-member and A-arms. Then I added 140lbs worth of roll bar and subframe connectors and I was running at 550'

I have ran one 129 with my lastest setup at the 1150' location

NICE! Looks like you have a nice bit of weight reduction going on! Ill have to try that one of these days...most I have ever done with my old GT was remove the spare and throw on some 15s with nittos...that was only when it was a bolton car though.

Havnt tried removing anything out of the cobra...didnt even get to try removing the headlight
