I was just idling in the staging lanes and the car just started ticking. I backed it out of the staging lanes and some guys from a local speed shop came over and said it sounded like a lifter so I guess I'm gonna get some new lifters and an e cam.
What are your mods? A lot of things can mimick the sound of a lifter, including an exhaust leak. Have you ever done any work to your valvetrain at all? A noisy rocker could also cause ticking, and there's no way to know for certain what the problem is, until you do a little digging.
I've got a never used E-cam, decided to go turbo and needed the lsa. I plan on getting lifters as well. Be carefull if you want to go 1.7 and E-cam though, close tolerances.
Yeah I'm taking my car to work tomorrow so some of the other techs can look at it. I work at a Ford dealership as a tech trainee. And how much do you want for that cam?
