Having a big problem and I'm out of ideas, lifters won't depress at all. Like I'm running solid lifters. I'm not. Changed heads recently, valve geometry seems fine after a quick check, my cr jumped up to about 11 now though.

Lifters never moved from lobes, and I tried firing it up to turn it over a few times, it runs but of course it won't idle well.

Anyone have any ideas? Or questions? I didn't keep pushrods in the same place BTW. But I doubt that would matter.

Is it that they will not depress ,or are they flat and not pumping up ? If you adjusted your valves on flat lifters that is probably your problem .

Can you be more specific? When you say they won't compress do you mean

A. After you adjust zero lash and go another 1/2, 3/4 or full turn that they wont compress and is opening the valve instead?
B. You are trying to compress by hand and they wont compress?

Are you physically watching the lifter while making your adjustment?
How much are you adjusting after you reach zero lash?
