I am doing an overhaul on a 91 stock mustang and have a question about part number m-6500-r302 . The old lifters that came out of the car don't sink - the pushrod seat is fixed or doesn't move. The new lifters, if i get a pushrod, i can push the pushrod seat down about 1/4 inch. Please help , thanks

Have you soaked the new ones in oil over night? If they are dry, it may make them easier to collapse. Just a thought, not sure if that is the solution or not.

Sounds like the original ones are frozen. The new ones are doing exactly what they are supposed to.

You dont need to soak the lifters overnight, just dip them in oil and install them. The old lifters sound like they are frozen. If they have high miles or are suspect, no reason to take a chance.
