I've soaked my new lifters overnight, does it mater which way the oil opening on the lifter is facing when slide into the block? It can be either up or down, with the spider retainer in place. Is one way better than the other?

I'm assuming it doesn't matter up or down, I was thinking maybe one way was better than the other.

Face the orifice up it allows any air to bleed out better

I prefer to face them towards the head keep hot oil away from the intake...

Does it matter no...i also pump the lifters up with my fingers as well...lube the bores good with assembly lube
