Why not have them painted for the same amount of money as the covers?

Thanks, that is the spray on tint., VHT nightshades.. People make a big deal about it because they dont know how to do it right. Take the lights off, Clean them with rubbing alcohol, and then Just spray as dark as you want them to be, and they still light up bright. Just like anything else that gets painted, they must have a little prepping.

So why do the 2010+ mustangs have sequential that use all three on both sides? Someone lied to you. And I don't see that being a state specific thing. You really think Ford would do something like that and then have to swap out the tail lights to sell it in certain states?

Because with them being sequential not all the lights are on at the same time? I don't know for a fact what the law said because I didn't research it, but every state has specific vehicle lighting laws that dictate the where's and hows. I don't remember if it was Colorado or Oklahoma but when I wanted to modify my housing to light up all the lights when I hit the brakes I was told that I most likely couldn't by an LEO quiantence. I mean is there a good reason why all 6 of our lights come on high for braking on 99-04's

*EDIT* I can't seem to find anything, maybe I was thinking about the 3rd brake light. I know I wanted to modify that at one time. I recall something about excessive lighting and distraction and something to the effect as it fell under the same guidance as underglow kits and such.

I'm not from the UK I just live here.

Back to the OP I had a thought that would run you about the same as paint but you wouldn't have to worry about matching the colors or bad paint etc...

If you could drill holes evenly spaced inside the recessed lettering and find some sort of clear plastic or even have a glass cutter trace SS inserts to put over the letters... you could then run a LED lamp behind the bumper and whatever meathod you wanted to use. MUSTANG would still light up, you wouldn't have to worry about cutting and custom fab on the visual side nor paint. And if you decided it looked like ass you just get some new SS inserts to cover up your tracks.
