I was wondering if there are any ford techs out there that may know if this is possible. I know that the 4.6L 2V Mustang GT motor is more or less the same as the 5.4L 2V F-150 motor (same bore different stroke). I am wondering if the intake manifolds are the same on both engines or at least the same bolt patters. My idea is to put a Lightning Blower on my 99 GT. I have not had the chance to work on a Lightning so I'm not to familiar with the engine but because the motors are so similar I'm hoping that the intakes are the same size and bolt pattern. If they are then all the fab. work that someone would have to do is move the alternator, battery, mass air meter and that good stuff. Burn a chip and your ready to go. It would not be as good as a Vortec but you get a lightning blower form pully to injectors for cheap used. If anyone had tried this or know anything about the Lightning motor PLESE let me know.

The 5.4 block is wider than the 4.6 therefore it would not bolt up.

I had the opotunity to buy one a while back. It sat in my friends shop for several months. 1st, You would need a large cowl hood. Next like Mustang92 said, the intake is wider. The heads on 99 up are PI heads but the block deck height is taller, so the heads are farther apart. By the time you fabricate and adjust , you can buy a good blower made for your car.

sounds like it might be more trouble then it is worth. Ive got a cobra R hood so thats no problem but if there is that much fab. work to be done i dont know... if someone did make a adaptor that word be perfect. So if there is, plese let me know, if not thanks anyways. I think i will have to stick to my original plan which was to put a hole lightning motor with a C-4 trans. in the 99GT. I guess if the block is wider my long tube headers that ive got now would not fit would they? Oh and would i have to change the k-member? i dont think i would.
