I went out for a ride in my 91lx and about 10 minutes after I left my home my head lights, parking lights, and interior lights went out. I do not know if the tail lights went out. I moved the headlight switch to off and back to on and everything worked again. Then about a hour later my interior lights went out. I moved the switch to off and back to on and they came back on about 2-3 seconds later. Then everything worked fine for the rest off the ride. I use this car as a daily driver and I never had this happen before. What could it be ?

pop you headlight switch out and check for burnt or loose connections! put your nose by the light switch and take a sniff! do you smell electrical? these cars are notorious for the headlight wires frying behind the switch! just a thought that's what happened to me with my old fox! the wires were frying !

mustanglx91.... My guess is its an lx.... a 91 but the switch and wires are most likely the problem as stated above.

Edit: just re read that, I wasn't trying to poke fun or make anyone sound stupid. Just stating that he joined in sep 07, and thats his name.

My vote is also on the actual switch itself. The headlights would go out when I had the brights on in my old '89 LX. The headlight switch was the culprit.

A fuse wouldn't come back on by playing with the switch.

+1 for a bad switch or connection at the switch.

Oh ****

There is a trick on these cars at the front bumper and I can't remeber what it is. I know it's reachable by hand and it's a common problem. 2 guys I know had the same thing happen and it was the same thing- I'll ask for ya

If it's not a fuse or fusible link behind the switch as mentioned earlier,

My buddy said it's usually a bad ground at the top of the radiator core support.
