The lack of progress has actually been subsided for a moment..... as I posted in this thread, I broke down and bought a set of ProMaxx heads for the vert. They're now thrown in the squirrel pile of parts that I've acquired for it.....

I'm visibly confused at the lack of other parts in the pile...

@MustangIIMatt Here's part of the "pile" I have so far. It's missing the T5 rebuild kit, 30# fuel injectors, mass air meter since it's still under the hood and in progress since however long ago, and the new 3 piece headlights for the same reason - but I have all of that somewhere.

I figured I'd post a pic of it all for and giggles.

Edit: I forgot about the X pipe - it's not shown either. And I DID order 1-5/8" shorty headers that are scheduled to arrive today.

The tail lens is for an early Fox Capri, not a Fairmont, so when Mike lost his tail light, he truly lost it.

79 Mustang tail lights were different. They had vertical lenses and not horizontal ribs like Capris.

vs Capri

Personally, I think the Capri tail lights look a lot better than the cheese graters. They're different enough to set the GT apart from the LX yet still kind of fit the theme they were going with imo.

The things seen that don't register, those tail lights triggered a memory, and confusion, this info is good, now I know what to look for, thanks.

New headers have arrived! These will definitely work with the heads, they measure slightly larger than the ports in the heads. The second pic is a comparison between the new 1-5/8 shorties and the Macs.

And they're prettier.

in two out of three taste tests, respondents have unanimously agreed...
Mercury tails look better than Ford tails.

The squirrel pile should be growing in a few days. Just scored some lowering springs off Facebook Marketplace that are supposed to be shipped.

Not that anything real was done to it, but I did go out and start it today. I ended up moving it from the spot it's been in for over a year to the corner of the garage pad. Not having been moved in so long meant that the rear brakes were locked up. I wiggled the car enough going back and forth that I was able to get one wheel loose, so I ended up dragging one wheel pulling it forward, then backed it into it's new resting place. There it'll sit for a while again....
