There is a guy here on Craigslist with an 87 Lincoln Mark 7. He says it has the 5.8, do those cars come in the 5.8? I thought they only came with the 5.0.. Anyway.. If it is a 5.8, does anyone know if it would be efi or carbed. thanks

These cars all came with 5.0L HO's. If its got a 5.8L in it, he put it in himself. In which case god knows what configuration it is?

I have a 17y/o neighbor that bought a ranger with a 289 in it. he knew I was into mustangs and asked me what I thought. the ad said Boss 302 motor from a 75 mach1. I told him to run screaming from the deal, but he bought the pile anyway. long story short I dont think the damn thing has run for more than 45 minutes b/c the swap was a hack job.
btw I showed him the casting numbers, it came up a run of the mill 289. I thought he was going to cry.

Just so you know they didnt all come with 5.0s, the 84-85 had an optional 115hp, 2.4 I6 turbo diesel.
If its EFI and done like factory and everything worked, then maybe. But it seems most people do hack jobs when it comes to stuff like that. I dont mind buying a car with a couple of mods, but not someone elses project and like stated before, only God knows what they did.
