Lingenfelter heads and Joe overton cam Dynojet #s

Well to be honest those are good #s for an Lt1 .. The car is an auto if it were a 6speed we would have hit 400rwhp.... As for wanting an Ls1 don't think so i like the raw grunt of the LT1 alot more... Do some research alot of Ls1s Head /cam cars are around the #s i put down.... But since we are on the subject what type of #s does your car make :D

I have a buddy with an 02 T/A WS6 that makes 400 RWHP with just a cam and some other goodies, so I would think that a heads/cam LS1 would make a lot more than that...
Here are his mods:

Comp Cams 224/224 .581/.581 LSA112
EX-616 Springs, EX-122 Titanium Retainers, Comp Cams Chromoly Pushrods
Hooker Long Tubes w/Jet Hot Coating, True Duals w/X-Pipe
Direct-Flo Air Lid, K&N, Prothane Transmission Mount, Pro 5.0

401.1 HP @ 6300, 376 ft-lbs @ 5100

IHey i do have a question for you what kind of power will a 306 stroker with 185 afr heads make power wise? A friend on mine just bought one.... I went from a roll in 1st last night against it in my stock 97SS and pulled a car on him through part of 3rd gear before i let off

With the right set up and assuming around 10.5:1 compression, i'd expect NO less than 350-360rwhp with an afr 185 headed 306, custom cam and a holley or rpm 2 intake manifold. Car will have to be spun to around 6600.

LPE Z, some guys on here will flame you because you have a camaro making like 100more rwhp than they can only dream of on motor. Are those heads just ported stocker LT1 heads? I have a friend with a bolt on LT1, he was in a gm hi tech performance magazine shoot out. His car has ran a best of 12.70 @ 109 with just gears, exhaust, small crap and tuning. I believe he uses an LT1 edit program and a laptop.

Is your 97SS an LT4 car?

So he gained roughly 90 rwhp from cam and bolt ons not bad... Heads really don't gain alot with the LS1s they already flow well.. That is why you see alot of cam only LS1s....My buddy has a 2000 SS with g5x2 cam and boltons put down 370rwhp on the same dyno and same day i went... Sorry i am not 100% correct with the LS1s on firing orders etc. but if i owned one or cared enough about them i would know....Fact still is an LT1 is tha fastest f-body in the world..N/A ...

That's some good driving. What does Bob Cosby run with his bolt-on 99 Cobra? 11.85 @ 113 mph. And only 281 cubes!

This isn't an arguement just a statement.

I came across a badass looking Camaro the other day that had a 383 N/A. I'm pretty sure it was an LS1. Anyway the guy driving it was super cool and we basically exchanged compliments on eachothers cars. We both knew exactly what the other was talking about, and I could tell he knew his stuff. He said he was putting out 410 to the wheels. When I told him what the old 302 was making he was like,"hell yeah dude, thats the ***t."

Well, I just think it's refreshing as hell to see intelligent, cool people sharing in the hobby. Most people I try to talk to on the street(even stang owners) are just trying to act hard, and obviously have no idea what makes their car work. Just thought I'd throw that out there... :nice:

I don't mind the flaming ... The heads are stock LT1 heads ported.... I ran the car before tuning and dyno time and it went [email protected] with a 1.874 sixty foot.. I gained 25rwhp on the dyno... Car should go 11s all motor ... The car has no weight reduction and weighs in at a heavy 4000# plus with me in it... I feel the car is running great for no more than what it is... And to all the 302 fans and 281 fans show me one that make 530 rwhp with bone stock never been touched short block....and still can be used as a daily driver with air, cruise etc

As for the SS it is an LT1 with 142,000 miles ,6 speed... The only thing done to it is obd2to obd1 conversion and 160 degree stat...

Do a search for Chris95svt. He's making closer to 575 on race gas,540 on pump, stock 302. Oh and check out the shortblock on ALL 03-04 cobras. Capable of closer to 900 rwhp without fail.... I guess this whole thought of getting along was stupid...

I coulda sworn I saw his car was 3100-3200lb race weight?

My friends old s/c notch made just over 500rwhp NO chip tune either. I think it was an A trim pulley swap, TW heads, cobra intake and a tfs 1 cam.

No, its all good. I was just being sarcastic(and a little defensive). I don't buy into Ford vs. Chevy unless it is good spirited competition. :nice:
