link me to rebuild kit???

I have a complete 93 longblock, i tore it down and everything looks in good shape.


Only weird thing i noticed is the top rod bearings(closest to pistons) have a brown area. I havent checked anything else.

I had a friend who said it looked like the motor ran without oil for a while.
If its true would it be alright to rebuild???

Anyway i need a link to an exact rebuild kit. I couldnt decide to reuse the hypers or get forged. I decied i will try and reuse the hypers, since people are running nitrous on them. So i think they will do just fine for a mild N/A build.

I plan to rebuild the longblock, then pull my current motor and swap over the intake and etc...

I havent rebuilt a motor so is it too hard, just takes patience and time???

oh and i forgot, explain how undersized bearing, for main and rods work.

Do the crank journals wear down you get a smaller bearing to fit better?

The brown on the berrings is where they ran through to the coppers. My old berrings did that.

The different size berrings are for a crank which has been machined/turned.

Hypers are cheaper but you could go with some TRW speed-pro's which are foged and would raise compression a little. Summit sells rebuild kits which are pretty good/cheap.

Not looking to start up a big debate...but just pointing out hypers and forged all have their pros and cons. Quick thing is forged don't expand and are often harder on startups (heard claims of them being "noisy"). Hypers are supposedly more forgiving, expand and such.

Sorry, so tired so can't explain it now nor remember it all. Heh. I'm sure someone else can do it better, but just wanted to make sure you thought about it when comparing and deciding.
