I'm building a 351w for my 93. I was staying EFI but have found a 85 rolling chassie. So if i was to pick this up would all i need is a carb and intake as well as a new dizzy since i have a EFI dizzy? Also anyone know if the stock 85 fuel lines will be fine to use as far as big enough? And the 85 use to be a 6cyl so how much rewiring will be involved if any or will it be cut and dry?I'm running a tremac. peace

i believe the 6 cylinder 4 eyes had a different K member so you may have to swap for a v8 one of a tubular unit, but don't quote me on that, i'm sure one of the other 4 eyed gurus will chime in with some help
i have my tublar k member and arms off my 93 i will be swaping over to the 85. as well as my front coil overs with brakes spindels the works. plus the rearend and my SFC peace

Pics? Is it a straight car? Sounds like a good situation for you, I know you were talking about wanting a 4 eye.

Going carbd is easy just find a hot wire off your ignition to run a msd(or other) box for ignition and you can power a regular relay for your fuel pump.iI would run new fuel lines,I have a sumped gas tank that i ran some braided line to a inline filter/pump ,up to a fpr under the hood. Its really easy,i bought my car already carbed, but i had to redo everything over because i like it nice and clean.
heres some pics but not to good. he says it's super clean!!!!!!! Iknew you 4eyed guys would like that i'm doing this instead of a clone! It's got blue interior in so so shape and is a 0 option car!

it's built for speed not longevity, woman
the wiring will be a major pain in the ass. nothing is interchangable cause they where originally cfi cars.

I know that SOME of the '85 V8 cars were equipped with CFI (others were still carbed), but the 6 cylinder cars were CFI, too?
SMOKEDYA, looks like a great project. Might need paint, but if the chassis is all clear of rust I'd jump on that.

All 85's with the AOD were CFI, 5-speed cars were 4bbl carb
the V6 in 85 was the 3.8L CFI same as in the Thunderbird/Cougar/LTD II/etc
I know the older foxes with the inline 6 had a dif k member, i dont beleive the V6 cars did. No matter anyway, its getting swapped for a tubular.
You need none of the engine wiring if you are gonna run a carb. Ditch it all.

this sounds like a retarded idea no offense, you already have a nice car why put all the time and money into this one, when all you have to do is drop the enigne in there and find an intake?

well it might have been a retarded idea, but i didnt really want to buy a nose and put it on my 93. yes this is the only reason i was gonna buy the 85. but unfortunatly i went to get the 85 and the guy sold it out from under me. peace

Yes, a much better idea than butchering a 4-eye to convert your '93. Its too bad you didn't get that car. I'd say keep looking.
