well first off, ive got a 1993 LX 5.0 5 speed and its all stock except for o/r-pipe, K&N filter, bumped timing at 14*
the problem im having is that when i want to get this thing going fast, and i push the gas pedal down further and further, the car seems to...idno, lag hesitate i guess? it doesnt accelerate smoothly or as fast as i think it should be accelerating. the throttle response is fine, its just that when i step on it, it will start accelerating and then it will have short bursts of what i think is the normal acceleration, and then it will sorta fall back to mediocre acceleration, and the process will be repeated up until i get to the higher RPMs which is when is smooths out and starts pulling like it should. Im not lugging the engine either so im not sure why its doing this, it doesnt seem right.
i raced my buddy in his 2001 V6 and he had 3 guys in it, i was alone in my car and i was in second around 50km/h, he kept up with me! i know id have taken him in the long run, but i think i should have been pulling away from him steadily right from the get go, considering his is a V6 and he had 3 people in it.
