LITTLE PROBLEM

MY CAR SHUTS OFF ON ME AFTER IT WARMS UP. STARTS UP RIGHT AWAY EVERYTIME BUT AS SOON AS I COME TO A STOP IT JUST SHUTS OFF. WHEN ITS COLD IT IDLES JUST FINE AROUND 700RPM. ANY IDEAS. TIMING IS SET A 10BTDC RIGHT NOW. JUST REPLACED THE PICKUP COIL BECAUSE IT USED TO SHUT OFF AN NOT TURN BACK ON FOR A FEW HOURS, DAYS, MONTHS.

It actually sounds like your idle is set too low. 700 RPM cold idle is not right. And if that is the case, the IAC might not have figured out to flow more air for the hot idle. As you come to a stop, if you feather the gas, does it keep running?

Have you changed the Idle setting or could the IAC be dirty?

Good luck.

The IAC could still be dirty even though you purchased a new TB. Giving it a thorough clean is never a bad thing, but I'd probably pull codes to see if anything else is causing it first.

The idle can be set so the car will idle, when hot and with no load, without the IAC. So if you disconnect the IAC and the car dies, that suggests the idle can be optimized further.

On a fox one can use an oscilloscope to measure the square wave, but I think 5N95 IAC's work differently.

Good luck.
